Greenland goes international with Inuk Siegstad
Spring is here and for team rider Inuk Siegstad this means riding at competitions all over Europe. One of the highlights will be riding in the pro division at FISE Montpellier.
Inuk’s bike has gotten a well-deserved upgrade with titanium and neochrome parts from Total BMX, so it's in top shape for all the competitions that Inuk is going to participate in all around Europe this season.
"It's going to be a busy season for me. I'm going to attend ten events/competitions this spring and summer, where FISE Montpelier is going to be the biggest", he says.
Riding pro at FISE
Inuk took home a gold medal in the amateur spine ramp and a bronze medal in park at FISE Montpellier 2018. This year he is going again, but this time he is competing in the pro class. A new challenge for sure, but what are his expectations?
"I don't like to set a goal about reaching a certain ranking. I will say that I'm very excited to be riding at the pro competition at this year's FISE Montpellier", he says and adds,
"But it always motivates me to do my best when I'm riding with people that are better than me, so let's see what happens."
Getting help to travel
Going to competitions means traveling, and this can be expensive when you aren't a full-time paid professional BMX rider. Fortunately, Inuk has gotten a sponsorship from Elite Sport Greenland.
"It means the world to me that they are helping me out. It allows me to travel much more and develop - not only as a BMX rider but also as a person. I want to do good and inspire the youngsters back in Greenland."
